Download self support version purchased and installed last night. Looking so nice and running very well. Already did some steam gaming on it. Gtx 960 on this machine.

I downloaded 'linspire-8-x64.iso' day before yesterday ,not sure if it was meant to be downloadable . It was either a very nice Christmas gift for those lucky enough to catch it or it was a mistake Sometimes it pays to be ocd about checking iso sites, haven't tried it out yet ,will do tomorrow after main Christmas face stuffing is over.

I would consider ,if it booted up.
I tried Lin8 on a HP ryzen 5 laptop (intergrated amd graphics) ,it froze while the boot process was scrolling along ,didn't seem to like ryzen 5 at all. I then tried numerous ways to boot on my main desktop pc ,Intel G4560 + amd RX560 +MSI H110M PRO-VD Plus motherboard.
Tried from a Ez2boot usb with iso ,then tried with linspire-8-x64.imgPTN ((iso converted to uefi use). Got nothing but a black screen even with the "quiet splash" commands removed. I'll try again with the iso burnt to a whole usb but i'm not hopeful.

pps: My Linspie 8 iso came from the same official place all LINSPIRE/FREESPIRE iso's are downloaded from. I haven't seen it anywhere else ,though FREESPIRE is available in other places as it is a free distro.
sidenote: It's a bit annoying we can't edit our posts on this forum ,i have to keep adding new comments which is a bit silly.

I have it installed on this system I am using. It's an AMD Athlon X4 880k with Nvidia GTX 960. I had an issue with the installer but it was because the secondary drive, a 500GB HDD, had a boot loader installed and I hadn't cleared the drive. I had done my own config to use a 1tb SSD drive with the 500GB mounted as /backups and did not format that drive causing an error with the boot loader. Anywho, pulled the drive, re-installed and then formatted and auto mounted for my daily backups. Anyway, haven't had any issues with the AMD chip or the Nvidia card on this system. In fact I am getting really great fps in games.

I burnt it to usb with Rufus ,using dd option ,not the recommended burn option and it still has a black screen on booting but after adding 'nomodeset' to the boot option it does work and i finally got to the desktop. I have a feeling it might have also worked from an Ez2boot usb ,i think i lost my "nomodeset" command because i didn't press the correct key (F10) after finishing editing the boot commands .
Anyway seems pretty good ,has the look and feel of a stable OS ,i'll try installing next and see how it goes. The one thing i don't like is that start menu which i think has something to do with KDE ,can't get used to it . I know it's used in a few distro's but i prefer keeping it simple with just one column on the left and then your programs branching off to the right when you hover your mouse over them.
It's the first thing i get rid of after installing windows ,install Open-Shell(formerly Classic-Shell) and choose classic start menu.

I haven't seen any official announcement yet regarding the release of Linspire 8. I'm wondering if there are various versions of Linspire 8 (Xfce, Mate, etc)?
